Getting young children to adopt healthy eating habits can be quite the challenge.
But not for Chef Mario.
Chef Mario Pompilio is one of our favourite features at our new flagship Brighton centre. With a cooking style that reflects his Italian roots, Mario has worked in major Melbourne dining establishments like Bluetrain at Southbank, his own Cafe D’ Uomo in Block Arcade and the famous Brunetti on Lygon Street!
Having three children of his own, Mario knows how vital it is to encourage healthy eating habits from a young age. “It’s important for children’s long-term development to get them eating well from an early age. That’s something I’m looking forward to here.”
Mario believes that as long as the food is flavourful, the children will not only eat it, but enjoy it. His advise to parents trying trying to encourage healthy eating amongst young children: “Give them flavour… If you stick with traditional recipes and adjust the spice level you can achieve the right balance.”
We look forward to seeing what Chef Mario creates for the children in the coming weeks. But an in-house professional chef is not the only thing we’re excited about here at our flagship centre.
